Fall Into the Path of Radical Relaxation

Fall into the path of radical relaxation and have a near-life experience.

“The miracle does nothing. All it does is to undo. And thus it cancels out the interference to what has been done.”       -ACIM

fractal-2_hdOur idea of doing nothing is doing something. Give the Universe what it asks, that you may learn how little is your part, and how great is It’s. It is this that makes the holy instant so easy and so natural. You make it difficult, because you insist there must be more that you need do. You find it difficult to accept the idea that you need give so little, to receive so much. And it is very hard for you to realize it is not personally insulting that your contribution and that of the Universal field are so extremely disproportionate. You are still convinced that your understanding is a powerful contribution to the truth, and makes it what it is. Yet we have emphasized that you need understand nothing. Miracles are for undoing the illusion not for reinforcing it, making it more comfortable or pleasurable.

Give up what you can’t keep for something you can’t lose.    -Big Al

The bottom line is this: what we have attempted to ADD to The Multi-verse has diminished our experience of it. This is why the whole process of salvation is a process of subtraction, of UN-doing, and the only thing which must be undone is the belief in need.

What we must see is that most, if not all, of our self-directed, self-motivated activity is but an avoidance, something unconsciously designed to keep us so preoccupied that there is not sufficient psychological space for observation and truth to arise.

This world I call Distractionville, the Buddhist call the monkey mind. Sometimes I think my brain has a mind of its own.

More and more, people seem to try to fill every possible moment of their lives with some sort of activity. Rest, quiet is approached as something to be avoided until one is completely exhausted, once again allowing no space for contemplation and truth. It is even criticized and condemned as lazy or unproductive.the_mushroom__s_tale_by_kir_tat-d2906mf

An example of that would be to set up goals for the future. What activities we need to do to reach that goal. Then we fill our days with those activities until one day we can’t remember why we are doing it, or we reach the goal and realize it was not worth the effort. A person may as well try to paint a Giraffe while it’s on fire. The happiness that we thought our goals and doing would bring why not just go straight for that TODAY – NOW. Skip all the rest and decide to be that – Today. For happiness is a state of mind and is not circumstance dependent. A state of mind in which no problems exist, nothing needs to be done and nothing is left undone. Here we arrive again at the fact that we cannot control everything in the world but we have complete control as to our thoughts and judgements about what happens.

R.I.P. Now!

There is no effort, and you will be led as gently as if you were being carried down a quiet path in summer. Only your own volition seems to make deciding hard. The Universal Field will not delay in answering your every question what to do. He knows. And He will tell you, and then do it for you. You who are tired will find this is more restful than sleep. For you can bring your guilt into sleeping, but not into this.    -ACIM

It’s Simple, But It’s Not Easy

“You are nothing. You may have your name and title, your property and your bank account, you may have power and be famous; but in spite of all these safeguards, you are as nothing. You may be totally unaware of this emptiness, this nothingness, or you may simply not want to be aware of it; but it is there, do what you will to avoid it. You may try to escape from it in devious ways, through personal or collective violence, through individual or collective worship, through knowledge or amusement; but whether you are asleep or awake, it is always there. You can come upon your relationship to this nothingness and its fear only by being choicelessly aware of the escapes. You are not related to it as a separate, individual entity; you are not the observer watching it; without you, the thinker, the observer, it is not. You and nothingness are one; you and nothingness are a joint phenomenon, not two separate processes. If you, the thinker, are afraid of it and approach it as something contrary and opposed to you, then any action you may take towards it must inevitably lead to illusion and so to further conflict and misery. When there is the discovery, the experiencing of that nothingness as you, then fear — which exists only when the thinker is separate from his thoughts and so tries to establish a relationship with them — completely drops away. Only then is it possible for the mind to be still; and in this tranquility, truth comes into being.”   -Krishnamurtereconciliacion-espiritual

There is no greater release and no deeper laughter than to discover that what I thought I was does not exist.

What you think you are is entirely self-reflecting. This singular point, having no real independent reality, learns what it is by reflection. It reflects back what it sees, what it is told, what it learns from the “external world.” The mind is a mimic. We learn who and what we are via the reflection we see “externally.” Therefore, the mind becomes conditioned, trained, by what it sees and what it is taught. It then merely repeats what it has been taught. It is a monkey, a perfect mimic; “Monkey see, monkey do.” Human free will is a myth. Virtually all self-centered behavior is programmed and imminently predictable. Why else would advertising be so effective? Following the dictates of conditioned mind is, in no way, freedom. It is the most pernicious form of slavery to the past and to the dictates of “society.” Sure, you can choose the color of your car, but can you choose no car? When identified with ego, one has no direct knowledge of himself or even of the totality of options available to him. All he knows is reflected, acquired, second-hand knowledge. This is ignorance indeed and guarantees the past will be repeated despite superficial changes in the form.meditation-font-b-spiritual-b-font-cameron-gray-font-b-spiritual-b-font-hd-24x36-inch

The ego is the entire process of name and form. All form implies a separateness one from the other. And language delineates this separation by making distinctions. The Hindus call it nama-rupa, name and form. This is as far as our separate divinity goes — giving things name and form. Man has never made a single living thing. In fact, Man has never truly created anything at all. Anything created must be eternal to be real.

The ego is the entire process of differentiation and distinction. The mind, utilizing the separative tool of language, makes arbitrary classifications and categories. Since we “think” in words or symbols, all linear thought is ego-based. Words are based on fragmentation, differentiation, definition. Therefore, the whole process of talking about (whether internally or verbally) and therefore thought, is separation. The entire process of intellectual “understanding” is based on dissection, breaking apart, attempting to understand the whole through defining it as the sum of its parts. The entire structure of language is subject-action-object. To objectify is to separate from. Objective thinking is separative thinking; the observer is different from the observed.images

Once again, it must be emphasized — THERE IS NO EGO separate from your belief in it. It is an empty shell, a lifeless nothing, an inconsistent phantom. Only by your belief in its reality does it have any power at all. The ego does nothing in and of itself. Only your decision to believe in it gives it any existence whatsoever. We are not hapless pawns or unwilling victims of something that happened long, long ago. The Fall of Man did not happen in the far distant past; it is happening now, and now, and now. Like a picture on a TV screen, each and every moment this image is refreshed by our belief in its reality. Moment-to-moment we give this spurious idea new life, new reality, new power.

“You will believe that you are part of where you think you are. That is because you surround yourself with the environment you want. And you want it to protect the image of yourself that you have made. The image is part of this environment. What you see while you believe you are in it is seen through the eyes of the image. This is not vision. Images cannot see.   -ACIM

It is both the problem maker and the problem solver. Ego makes a problem out of any situation — too much money/not enough money, relationship/no relationship, etc. Ego prefers drama to silence. Silence and space threaten its existence in that its meaninglessness and powerlessness may become apparent.

“By becoming involved with tangential issues, it hopes to hide the real question and keep it out of mind. The ego’s characteristic busy-ness with nonessentials is for precisely that purpose. Preoccupations with problems set up to be incapable of solution are favorite ego devices for impeding learning progress. In all these diversionary tactics, however, the one question that is never asked by those who pursue them is, ‘What for?’ This is the question that you must learn to ask in connection with everything. What is the purpose? Whatever it is, it will direct your efforts automatically. When you make a decision of purpose, then, you have made a decision about your future effort; a decision that will remain in effect unless you change your mind.”images

The ego is unwillingness, nothing more. Are we willing to see that it is our demand for individuation, for uniqueness, which is the source of all of our problems, pain and suffering? The ego-mind, in fact, has a predisposition to see virtually any and all situations as, at least potentially, negative and problematical for itself. It needs problems to solve and “others” to attack in order to make its existence real. And being in constant contradiction, can anything but problems arise? If we see this, radically and profoundly, then we will see that un-Happiness is a constant activity that we are doing to ourselves. And in that realization, we will also see that we have another choice. It’s simple but its not easy.

Dominion Over All Things

cosmic_face_by_expercfLooking back, how many senseless things have we pursued in which we thought would bring us happiness. In truth they only imprisoned us. To realize that we are not bound by these senseless pursuits is the beginning of freedom. If we continue to seek for freedom in things that have no meaning, we seek to prove happiness is where it is not. Let us be glad that we cannot prove that happiness is contained in the world of form. For if it were, we would continue to seek for it where it is not, and never find it.

This idea points again toward how simple happiness is to find. Look for it where it awaits you, and there you will find it. Look nowhere else for it is not there.

I once was walking along the sidewalk after a nice dinner with friends. There in front of me a man searching down on his hands and knees under a street light. I started looking with him as I asked “what are you looking for”. He slurred back to me as I noticed his intoxication, “my damn wallet”. I thought, clearly it is not here and then asked him, “where did you lose it”. He pointed back down an alley. I asked, ” why are you looking for it here?”. Slurring he said “I can see out here”.

This is the condition we find ourselves in. We search in what we know and are familiar with because we cannot see where we have never seen before. This is the greatest freedom a Who-man has. He may change the way he/she see’s and the whole world changes with it. He is not bound by all of the strange and twisted ways of the world. The way he was brought up to see can be changed by changing our thought. Change your thoughts, change your life.

I invite you to look at this with me. The first time I heard it was in a quote from Willie Shake-a-spear.

There is no good or bad, right or wrong, only thinking makes it so.

These two pictures above are the same. They contain only pixels on a screen. Most if not all people would say that they are not the same. One is beautiful and one is a dreadful landfill. The point is that only our thoughts about the two pictures give them any meaning. Everything is only our thought about it. In this way we are only ever seeing the past. We are always looking forward or looking back, but either way we are still only seeing our past thoughts about it.

Where else can we look? We have tried everything else with limited and temporary success.

“Know Thyself” was written on the forecourt of the Temple of Apollo at Delphi. Legend tells that the seven sages of ancient Greece, philosophers, statesmen and law-givers, who laid the foundation for western culture, gathered in Delphi to inscribe “know thyself” at the entry to its sacred oracle. When people came to see the Great Oracle, standing in line staring at the inscription above the doorway into the temple, Sartre Neuron or know thyself, would have been the most profound advice that could have been given.

How does your mind work. What are the stimulus and response that identifies your personal behavior. In the Biblical story of Genesis, it says Adam named the animals and here we find the beginning of mans thought. Note that as soon as Adam named the animals they became separate from him, in contrast to before he named them, it was all just One, including himself. This is the condition we find ourselves in. Subject/object reality. I am here and you are where you are. Just one short example of our current reality.

Nothing we see with the body’s eyes means anything. Why? Because we have given everything we see all of the meaning it has for us.   -ACIM

Self-knowledge is all-encompassing. What is learned on one scale of experience can be applied to all scales. It is the highest form of knowledge, surpassing all other knowledge. Self-knowledge is also timeless, which means that what is gained in one era, benefits all subsequent generations.

When asked what was the most difficult thing, Thales replied, “To know thyself.”
When asked what was easiest, he replied, “To give advice.”

“The essence of knowledge is self-knowledge,” claimed the Greek philosopher Plato. Centuries before him, the Hindu Upanishads confirmed, “Enquiry into the truth of the Self is knowledge.” Leagues away and centuries later, the Persian poet Rumi wondered, “Who am I in the midst of all this thought traffic?” and the American poet Walt Whitman celebrated his Self, “a simple, separate person.”

Can one really come to know himself? Some would say that a book cannot read its own pages or that a fish has no concept of water or that a flame cannot light itself. One thing is for certain, the ego loves to study itself. Be careful not to fall into this trap. If one wanted to shortcut the whole procedure he would simple decide to be happy. The images are all the same. There is no good or bad, only thinking makes it so. We have given everything we see all of the meaning that it has for us. We cannot control anything in the world, but we are in total dominion of our reactions to what occurs in the world. If this is true and I assure you that it is, YOU and I have dominion over all things.

One Problem – One Solution

A problem cannot be solved if you do not know what it is. Even if it is really solved already you will still have the problem, because you will not recognize that it has been solved. This is the situation of the world. The problem of separation, which is really the only problem, has already been solved. Yet the solution is not recognized because the problem is not recognized.

Everyone in this world seems to have his own special problems. landscapes-nature-trees-flowers-forest-leaves-mushrooms-fantasy-art-magic-statues-digital-art-drawin_www-artwallpaperhi-com_81Yet they are all the same, and must be recognized as one if the one solution that solves them all is to be accepted. Who can see that a problem has been solved if he thinks the problem is something else? Even if he is given the answer, he cannot see its relevance.

That is the position in which you find yourself now. You have the answer, but you are still uncertain about what the problem is. A long series of different problems seems to confront you, and as one is settled the next one and the next arise. There seems to be no end to them. There is no time in which you feel completely free of problems and at peace.

The temptation to regard problems as many is the temptation to keep the problem of separation unsolved. The world seems to present you with a vast number of problems, each requiring a different answer. This perception places you in a position in which your problem solving must be inadequate, and failure is inevitable.

No one could solve all the problems the world appears to hold. They seem to be on so many levels, in such varying forms and with such varied content, that they confront you with an impossible situation. Dismay and depression are inevitable as you regard them. Some spring up unexpectedly, just as you think you have resolved the previous ones. Others remain unsolved under a cloud of denial, and rise to haunt you from time to time, only to be hidden again but still unsolved.

goodwp-com_31912All this complexity is but a desperate attempt not to recognize the problem, and therefore not to let it be resolved. If you could recognize that your only problem is separation, no matter what form it takes, you could accept the answer because you would see its relevance. Perceiving the underlying constancy in all the problems that seem to confront you, you would understand that you have the means to solve them all. And you would use the means, because you recognize the problem.

This idea will be successful to the extent to which you do not insist on defining the problem. Perhaps you will not succeed in letting all your preconceived notions go, but that is not necessary. All that is necessary is to entertain some doubt about the reality of your version of what your problems are. You are trying to recognize that you have been given the answer by recognizing the problem, so that the problem and the answer can be brought together and you can be at peace.      -ACIM Lesson 79

What do you believe your problems are? If you can short circuit the belief that you have a series of problems that need solving, then you might catch a glimpse of peace today. Tell yourself today that you do not have any problems, they have already been solved. img_0381

There are so many ways to look at this issue of stress, problems and dissatisfaction. Our lives in this world are as short as the shadow of a passing cloud, the mist from a spray bottle, a fast runner. twenty-five thousand people die each hour. Twenty-five thousand six hundred are born each hour. This seeming world is nothing more than a round flowering field. New flowers are popping up as old ones wilt. If we can imagine that time is only our concept and that to the Universe a thousand years is only a blink, we may catch a glimpse of the fact that there is a purpose here. For me, that purpose is to learn how to give and love completely. Until that lesson is learned it may be that we just keep coming back over and over. Recognizing that all our problems are nonexistent may be a step toward peace in which Love can blossom.

Culture is the biggest cult of all. It says, go work hard, build yourself an empire, be important, look at me, look at me. Build up stores of money so you can be comfortable. Put your faith in medicine, put your faith in the body, make it comfortable. No matter what it takes- Win. He who dies with the most toys wins. Life is a bitch and then you die – no – life is a joy and then you ascend. But will you have to come back because of lessons you failed to learn and be denied the next realm.

I used to think that the “win-win strategy of life” was correct and that it would bring me happiness. One day it occurred to me that I could just go straight for the Divine Love and peace and skip the rest. If you don’t know where your going, any road will take you there. Set peace and Divine love (not human love) as the destination. Infinite patience Will produce immediate effects. Peace is the effect. One problem-One solution or One goal-One Peace.

Pull The Ripcord-Now

no-chute
First step – get a parachute

Donald Trump announces Tuesday that all Muslims are to be executed. Your friend tells you her car was stolen, no sorry, your car was stolen. The deal fell through, didn’t get the promotion, out of ice cream AND toilet paper.

WHAT IS YOUR GOAL?

South African skydiver Christine McKenzie leapt from an airplane and parachuted safely to the ground more than 100 times in her life. But in August 2004, while executing jump number 112, a crucial step in the skydiving process failed: Her main parachute didn’t open. Hurtling to the ground at 100 mph, McKenzie attempted to open her emergency chute, which also failed. Luckily, she landed across a string of power lines before falling all the way to the ground, and the 11,000-foot plummet left her with only a broken pelvis.

While most of us are not skydivers, we sometimes still find the need for a metaphorical parachute. Life presents us with a myriad of seeming choices. Should I stay in this relationship, quit this job, remove this wart off my nose, trade my car in, move to a remote island in the South Pacific, buy Viagra, take this trip, rob this bank or that one.. When confronted with the reality of these being first world problems, they seem very important non the less. So important in fact that suicide is the number one cause of death in the world today.

Since the only thing for certain is change, you wonder if people crave death because its the only way they can get anything really finished.

Setting The Goal

If we were to get up everyday and set the goal as being happy, and letting that come first, then the problems become second. We have all made to do list. The problem I find is that the list only gets longer and longer until all peace is lost, leaving us wondering the point of the to do list. This is good! What IS the point of a to do list?  images

Albeit the mind is trained to seek out and find imperfections and create to do list, it may be trained to another systematic way of thinking. That way of thinking will stem from the approach we take in each event.

In any situation in which you are uncertain, the first thing to consider, very simply, is…

“What do I want to come of this? What is it for?”

If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself. The only thing we need concern ourselves with is, will We repeat our non-serving old patterns. Those who fail to learn from history are destined to repeat it. Everyone knows this and still continues to pursue goals that have no chance of bringing lasting peace and happiness. WHAT IS IT FOR, should be the question.

Culture is the greatest cult of all.

Many of the people I talk to regarding any issue surrounding their peace of mind state:  they just do not have enough time to meditate, take a walk in nature, read something or just sit and listen to music. screen-shot-2017-02-12-at-5-47-04-pmInevitably it surfaces that the reason for this is because they have chosen to be this busy. Some choose to stay this busy to keep from having to look at their pain. For some it just happens that we over commit. If we ask “what is this for” to every situation them we can identify the false need to do this activity. A journey to peace may actually start with a step backward.

Sometimes after all of the searching and questioning we come to realize that “I Am, what I was searching for”. The seeker is the sought. One needs not search for peace if that is where he is coming from. That which causes life within you IS you. The home you seek is within you.

What is the goal? Peace, which then happiness will spring from.

Don’t Worry, it’ll be Coming Around Again

Chaos gives birth to stars.

I know, nothing stays the same

But if your willing to play the game

It’ll be coming around again!

What will be coming around again?  Another opportunity to learn compassion, another chance for Love AND all the lessons present themselves until learned.

Painting on wood by Alex Williams

Now what would be the point of all of this if any of us refused to take the curriculum? None-no other point. We have fought wars together, loved and laughed for century’s, birthed and buried, through the perils of the tests of time. It’ll be coming around again. Chaos gives birth to stars. Just try and remember, we’ve been in this together from the beginning.  I am your Fathers brother, your sisters grandchildren, your wife in your last life and You. I Am the Hindu, the Buddhist, the Taoist and the Jew. Accept the Love lesson once and for all of us.

There’s nothing new under the sun. I’ll be with you always, and in all ways.

The eye in which I see The Divine, is the eye in which the Divine sees me. So that each eye you witness is your true self looking back.

The sting of past regrets strikes deep to create unconscious guilt. In this case let it all arise, do not suppress it. Bring it to the light to be dispelled. Grievances with Yourself or others will be coming around within your mind, you can count on it. Eliminate each one as it arises by mentally giving it to Universal consciousness. Pretend there is an great and shining white marble alter. Lay all your hurts and pains, guilts and regrets on this alter.

Simply do this: Be still, and lay aside all thoughts of what you are and what the universe is; all concepts you have learned about the world; all images you hold about yourself. Empty your mind of everything it thinks is either true or false, or good or bad, of every thought it judges worthy, and all the ideas of which it is ashamed. Hold onto nothing. Do not bring with you one thought the past has taught, nor one belief you ever learned before from anything. Forget this world, forget this writing and come with wholly empty hands unto your Inheritance of love and peace.

You Will See It Everywhere

Whatever one holds in the mind- he will see everywhere. Seek and ye shall find!

In a place you only dream of, where your soul is always free

Silver stages, golden curtains, filled my head plain as could be

As a rainbow grew around the sun, all my stars above, who died

Came from somewhere beyond the scene you see

These lovely people played just for me

Now if I let you see this place where stories all ring true

Will you let me past your face to see what’s really you

It’s not for me I ask this question as though I were a king

For you have to love, believe and feelthumbnail_24689

Maybe you have experienced this phenomena. If you desire something, such as a particular model automobile, you will see that model everywhere. If you have a person you really want to see, you spot them in large crowds, even when it dawns on you that it is not them. If you love a particular flower you might see it everywhere. How might one use this natural mechanism of his mind to find Love and Peace. First one might ask ” do I desire love and peace”? If one cares to look directly at it, all of the things we seek, we seek because we believe it will bring joy, which is a side effect of love and peace. If that meets with your approval, then how can we realize a short path to peace.

Seek not to change the world, but seek to change what you wish to see in the world, and all the world changes with it. As in the examples above, if one holds only thoughts of love in his mind, he sees only Love. wp-1475139312806

The popular book “The Secret” focuses on bringing about “things” into our lives. Why not just shortcut the entire process and go straight for the Love. We think we have possessions, but really they possess us.We have to care for them, and eventually they will all disappear, while the depth of our love and peace will reside with us forever. We only get to keep what we give away. Find your love and give it away.

How do you find your love? Is it your love, did you create it? Has it been in you all along, where does it reside? What is it made of and how do I give it away? 115254819

If you are walking along and see a beautiful flower that you like, you might pick it. But  if you love it, you might bring it some water and care for it. When you feed your dog, cat, Hippopotamus or Rattlesnake, this is a simple act of love. If you try to put a new coat of paint on your Dragon while it’s breathing fire – no wait, I got off track there. We can even sit in meditation and practice giving our love away to the Multiverse.

Giving is proof of having.

You will find your love when you give it away, and then you will see it everywhere.
